Based on the Philippines Archipelagos, this map provides a medium sized classic styled map among all of the Nukes and Dragons and Red Planets flying around. Being one of our first user ideas for a map, the Philippines had tested our brand-new Public Map Studios, also the community and cartographers. The map itself is although simple, the process it went through comprised of many editions to get this final product. Strategy & Tips

Island warfare makes its debut on Major Command in our map of the Philippines. With this new kind of combat comes new game play challenges you will need to overcome to prevail over your foes.

The first thing to note when drawing up your battle plan is to make sure you are aware of all the sea connections between landmasses and ships. There are quite a few so keep your eyes open.

You may notice that there are 3 sea territories on the map (each marked by a ship). Although these sea territories are not part of any bonus, they offer great strategic options and should not be ignored. For example if you find yourself in command of Cagayan (the port in the upper left hand corner of the map) you could take the vessel in the Pacific and launch a surprise attack on the port of Davao (the port located in the lower right hand corner of the battle space. If you do not watch these ships and their ports you can expect more than a few surprise attacks from territories across the map.

Also note that there are no barriers between territories on land such as mountains or rivers; so when you are bulking up on your boarders, keep in mind that some territories quite a few adjacent territories.

Because of these, a good place to start would be the smaller bonuses to the sides of the map. However a practiced player may try his luck on some of the larger central bonuses, a more daring operation but one that would offer an advantage against others early on in the game.
